About the Role

This is administrative and managerial project work, overseeing all components of large-scale Information Technology projects and initiatives. Responsibilities include project scope preparation, return on investment (ROI) analysis, financial projection, project and life cycle implementation, staffing coordination and/or management, contract administration, and budget oversight. The role facilitates dialogue between internal customers, technology staff, developers, vendors, external agencies, schools, and community partners, serving as a point of contact for clients with projects in progress.

Work involves employing industry-recognized project management principles, techniques, and best practices to develop, monitor, report, and coordinate all aspects of a project from inception to post-implementation support. Ensures actions are strategic and include a plan for evaluating progress. Project oversight may also include coordination of support activities such as training, outreach, and customer relationship management. Projects are classified as large and complex enterprise-wide information service, application software, or technology infrastructure initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develops strategies for appropriate scopes of work.
  • Plans and manages timelines, and monitors progress of various projects and work streams; provides progress updates to project leads.
  • Works with selected teams on specific aspects of meeting project goals in a timely manner.
  • Prepares reports related to project status and projections.
  • Directly supervises technical business analysts as required.
  • Participates in confidential and/or sensitive matters and/or projects at every level of the enterprise.
  • Works with vendors/internal developers to implement software solutions.
  • Evaluates and recommends technology and software solutions that will satisfy the needs of schools and offices.

Requirements

Completion of a bachelor’s degree program from an accredited college or university.

Six years of full-time, paid, professional experience in operations, finance, education, or information technology, including serving as a team lead or project manager.

OR any equivalent combination of training and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent.

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems, including technical configuration of finance and human capital modules (Oracle ERP Cloud preferred).
  • Proficiency with Google products, Gitea, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Visio, or other productivity tools.
  • Basic understanding and use of SQL.
  • Understanding and application of industry-recognized project management principles and processes (e.g., PMI, PMP certifications).
  • Ability to apply best-practice standards to a product’s design, test, and production phases.
  • Ability to review and comprehend technical documentation.
  • Experience managing large or complex projects and/or budgets.
  • Ability to lead and implement strategic initiatives under aggressive deadlines.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter, team leader, facilitator, and team member.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing and prioritizing competing priorities.
  • Ability to formulate solutions to complex problems and develop strategies based on quantitative and/or qualitative evidence.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams.

Pay

Salary Range: $88,606 - $114,798
