About the role

Modern Construction Services is a fast-growing, certified WBENC women-owned commercial construction and facilities maintenance company based in Charlotte, NC. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead our contractor-side execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a team of three to five Project Specialists who manage contractor-side execution, and step in when a project goes sideways.
  • Own GC-side execution on renovations, retrofits, and facility upgrades: review estimates and scopes, sequence the trades, and manage subcontractors and field personnel.
  • Get out to job sites across the US to validate work, resolve field-level issues, and keep multi-trade projects on schedule.
  • Qualify subcontractor estimates and validate scopes so problems get caught before they reach the field, not after.
  • Partner with Safety and Compliance to keep job sites safe, OSHA-compliant, and up to standard.
  • Track KPIs, tighten workflows, and keep data clean across platforms like Fexa, Avetta, Corrigo, and Coupa.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of facilities project management on the contractor side.
  • We are a general contractor. Owner-side, client-side, or provider-perspective facilities management is a different world than ours.
  • Two or more years supervising project teams.
  • Experience managing $1 million to $3 million construction projects.
  • Hands-on trade knowledge, with electrical or HVAC preferred.
  • A strong grasp of GC workflows, estimating, and sequencing, plus experience managing subcontractors and field personnel.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, execution-heavy environment, ideally you have run projects end to end or run your own construction business.
  • PREFERRED: PMP or equivalent, OSHA 10 (minimum), and CMMS experience (Fexa, ServiceChannel, Corrigo, Coupa, Procore).

Compensation

  • Base Salary: Up to $95,000
  • On-Target Earnings: $150,000
  • Bonus: Quarterly, Individual bonus + team bonus + company performance bonus
