Senior Facilities Project Manager
Position Summary
The Senior Facilities Project Manager is responsible for leading and executing construction, remodel, and line transfer projects across Bio-Techne’s Minnesota headquarters and assist with other US campuses. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget and resources, and in alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning and execution of construction, renovation, and relocation projects to ensure timely, on-budget delivery.
Manage all aspects of project execution including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
Collaborate with internal teams to define space requirements and support capital planning through requests for quotation (RFQs) and proposal development.
Serve as the primary liaison with external architects & general contractors, and other service providers as needed.
Support cross-functional teams with capital projects for Safety and sustainability initiatives.
Assist in developing and managing CapEx budgets, including bid retrieval, cost analysis, and forecasting.
Lead structural and HVAC-related projects including installation, upgrades, retrofits, and system optimization.
Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements for energy efficiency, reliability, and cost savings.
Monitor and report on project performance, timelines, and expenditures to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success.
Send out communication to stakeholders of any disruption to resources in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies throughout project execution.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.
Adhere to safety protocols, building codes, and company policies during all phases of project execution.
Provide input and support for long-term facilities planning and strategic initiatives as needed.
Ensure all projects adhere to regulatory requirements, including OSHA, local codes, and environmental standards.
Maintain proper documentation, permits, and inspection records.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Construction, Facilities, Biomedical or Sciences) field or equivalent certification/experience. 3-5 years of relevant experience managing projects of increasing complexity in Facilities Management of an industrial facility that includes HVAC systems, design, installation, and maintenance. Project Management Certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Ability to read architectural plans and blueprints. Strong communication and hands-on project leadership skills. Ability to build relationships and influence department leadership. Professional interaction across organizational levels with proactive issue escalation. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management systems. Excellent documentation, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills. Understanding principles and concepts relevant to managing multiple projects. Valid driver’s license is required for travel. Ability to work in a team environment and lead meetings.
Working Conditions
Walking around construction sites and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
Work in varied environments including indoor office settings, mechanical rooms, and outdoor construction areas.
Exposure to weather conditions when inspecting exterior work or traveling between campuses.
Travel between Minnesota campuses for various projects, up to 15% of the time.
Travel across the North America campuses as needed.
Ability to work hours that conform to standard business operations.
Require flexibility for early morning, evening, or weekend work depending on project timelines or contractor schedules.
Physical Requirements
Rotating between sitting and standing throughout the day.
Occasionally lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.
