Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of a facilities, materials, environmental, or geotechnical engineering project to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget completion within contracted scope.
- Monitor progress and performance against the project plan; troubleshoot and resolve operational problems to minimize delays.
- Oversee resource management, project scheduling, budgets, forecasts, and coordination with external vendors, subcontractors, or contractors.
- Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate project status to the team and client.
- Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet targets and milestones.
- Communicate with clients to deliver work products to their satisfaction.
- Coordinate with APR to ensure engagement throughout the project, particularly at critical junctures.
- Approve invoices, prepare change orders, and manage collections.
- Manage all aspects of large-scale, complex projects, including defining scope, schedule, and budget with the client or NAM.
- Lead interactions with clients and stakeholders to align project execution with their goals.
- Design, communicate, and implement a project plan.
- Lead safety efforts, including preparation and compliance with approved safety plans.
- Identify, develop, and gather necessary resources to complete the project.
- Prepare designs, work specifications, schedules, budgets, and forecasts; select materials, equipment, project staff, and contractors.
- Estimate costs, resources, and time required for project completion.
- Prepare expenditure forecasts and manage scope and schedule to meet budget.
- Monitor activities, allocate resources, and assign tasks to ensure targets are met.
- Partner with other departments or offices to secure specialized resources for the project.
- Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate project status within and beyond the project team.
- Coach and mentor project staff and assist in problem-solving.
- Coordinate with APR to ensure appropriate oversight and sufficient time for quality reviews.
- Coordinate with accounting for financial management, including business intelligence, invoicing, and collections.
- Develop an understanding of project-related risks and company risk policies; identify potential risks and protective measures.
- Lead safety efforts, model a safe work environment, and ensure team compliance with safety rules and guidelines.
- Promote pre-task planning and continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects.
- Engage APRs at the onset of projects to uphold quality standards and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology, with a minimum of 10 years’ related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 14 years’ related experience is required.
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), or similar professional registration/certification relevant to the type of services and projects being managed.
- Authorized Project Reviewer status.
