Essential Functions

  • Works with customers of Information Technology to identify business requirements and translates those requirements into business solutions that improve the operation of the Court.
  • Affirms successful completion of major systems development projects by using the Court’s systems development methodology involving users at every phase of the development cycle including periodic development reviews and development prototypes.
  • Affirms timely completion of major systems development projects by using formal project planning techniques to manage projects and tracking development progress in the Court approved project tracking and time reporting system.
  • Affirms the best use of Information Technology resources by assisting team members in the development of technical and organizational skills.
  • Affirms ongoing success of business solutions by documenting processes developed and following up with Information Technology customers to assess the quality and utility of processes.
  • Provides ongoing support to Court application systems as assigned.
  • Provides expertise in technical areas related to application development projects assigned.
  • Learns new skills and technologies as required to provide the best available business solutions for Information Technology customers.
  • Affords assistance to Information Technology management in selecting and evaluating the performance of team members.
  • Participates in the specification, selection and implementation of hardware and software required by assigned project.
  • Completes programming and analyst tasks as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications, Licenses and Certifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Management Systems, or related field.
    • Four (4) years of paid experience managing a staff in a Court setting.
    • Experience using MS Office Suite and relevant software and systems.
    • Experience commensurate with the job that demonstrates the required skills and competencies may be considered in lieu of education requirement(s).
    • If an employee drives on behalf of the Court, the employee must possess and maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license, no fault insurance and access to a vehicle to use in the performance of assigned duties.

      • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, employees, officials and external contacts.
      • Ability to meet and interact with the public and deal courteously and effectively with their questions or problems, seeking assistance when needed.
      • Ability to operate office equipment.
      • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions and to request clarification when needed.
      • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
      • Excellent facilitation, presentation and meeting management skills
      • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
      • Proven analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
      • Skill in managing one’s own time and the time of others, as well as the ability to meet deadlines.
      • Thorough knowledge of Court processes and procedures.
      • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
      • Ability to work with a diverse population.

        Additional Requirements

        • Successful completion of criminal and IV-D background check, fingerprinting and rechecks.
        • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

          Physical Requirements

          • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
