Duties And Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, enhancement, and auditing of complex project-level and portfolio-level financial models.
- Design and evaluate optimal capital structures across senior debt, tax equity, mezzanine, HoldCo facilities, and equipment financing.
- Run advanced scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess impacts of pricing, leverage, execution timing, and structural terms.
- Lead debt sizing, sculpting, draw mechanisms, DSCR and covenant analysis, and refinancing/term-out strategies.
- Independently identify key value drivers, risks, and sensitivities, and present recommendations to senior leadership.
- Take ownership of key transaction workstreams across multiple concurrent financings from structuring through closing.
- Lead preparation of marketing materials, CIMs, lender presentations, and investor communications.
- Actively manage capital markets processes, including coordinating diligence, leading Q&A workstreams, and interfacing directly with lenders, tax equity investors, and counterparties.
- Drive transaction timelines, manage deliverables, and ensure execution milestones are met.
- Leverage prior transaction experience to anticipate execution risks and proactively solve issues during the deal process.
- Collaborate with development, EPC, and asset management teams to validate assumptions, schedules, and budgets impacting financings.
- Translate complex financial analyses into clear, decision-oriented materials for internal stakeholders and investment committees.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts on modeling, diligence, and execution processes.
- Support oversight of active financing facilities, including compliance tracking, draw approvals, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain well-organized data rooms and ensure completeness and accuracy of transaction documentation.
- Monitor post-closing obligations, amendments, refinancings, and ongoing capital structure optimization opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline required.
- Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, Master’s in Finance, Energy Systems, or related field) a plus.
- 4-6 years of experience in renewable energy project finance, investment banking, private equity, or infrastructure finance.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and executing closed transactions (debt, tax equity, or structured finance), with clear involvement in deal processes.
- Advanced financial modeling capabilities, with the ability to independently build, audit, and adapt complex project finance models.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy financing structures, including debt, tax equity, and hybrid capital solutions.
- Proven ability to own workstreams and manage multiple active transactions simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong commercial judgment and problem-solving skills, particularly in live deal environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including direct interaction with senior stakeholders and external counterparties.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and execution-focused.
