About the Role
The Sr. Project Engineer at Astura Medical will serve as the project leader for a cross-functional development team, including surgeons, marketing, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing. The primary goal is to establish product requirements, create the development plan, and manage development activities up to commercialization.
Responsibilities
- Project Management: Develop and manage the project plan, including all cross-functional activities affecting the project.
- Design Control Documentation: Create design control documentation per Astura’s design control procedure.
- CAD Modeling: Model complex parts using SolidWorks CAD software, including design tables, surfacing, and complex assemblies.
- Design for Manufacturability: Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to ensure parts can be efficiently manufactured.
- Design Analysis: Perform analyses to evaluate design feasibility, including FEA and written calculations.
- Manufacturing Drawings: Create manufacturing drawings per ASME Y14.5.
- Tolerance Analysis (GD&T): Perform tolerance analysis on all interfacing devices.
Requirements
- Creative thinker and problem solver.

- Expert-level CAD skills.
- Excellent understanding of fundamental mechanical principles.
- Organized.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, Project.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in all listed job responsibilities (proficiency test will be conducted).
- Formal CAD and GD&T training preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree.
