About The Role
The Senior Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in overseeing and driving the successful execution of complex construction projects from inception through completion. This position requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and construction processes to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Senior Project Engineer will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, and clients, to coordinate technical aspects and resolve challenges proactively. They are responsible for maintaining compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and contractual obligations while optimizing resource allocation and workflow efficiency. Ultimately, this role ensures that all engineering deliverables align with project goals and contribute to the overall success and reputation of the organization within the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design review, and execution phases of construction projects, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Cook up and communicate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to facilitate smooth project progress and resolve any technical issues.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, implementing corrective actions as necessary to mitigate risks and delays.
- Conduct site visits to assess construction progress, verify compliance with engineering standards, and address any on-site challenges.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and project deliverables to ensure clarity, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and project staff, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Ensure all project activities comply with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification recognized in the United States. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction project engineering or management. Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects with multidisciplinary teams. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management credentials. Experience with advanced project management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools. Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and LEED certification processes. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
