About the role

Join us in changing the world through design! We are seeking a Senior Project Designer committed to design excellence, collaboration, sustainability, and creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Leading all phases of the design process with a high level of proficiency and expertise
  • Initiating and creating schematic designs that optimize design solutions and plans
  • Managing overall project goals and constraints, including client values, construction and design budget limitations, and schedule requirements
  • Evaluating design alternatives based on site and code requirements
  • Applying knowledge of building technology, building materials, construction methods, costs, and code to the design process
  • Identifying and responding to technical implications and design decisions
  • Preparing client presentation packages, external publications, and award submissions
  • Playing an essential role in marketing opportunities and developing successful client relationships for continuing business
  • Using graphic storytelling to advance the project delivery and scope
  • Reviewing work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual
  • Leading collaborative teams in internal design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups and external community engagements
  • Demonstrating strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance and design ideas
  • Mentoring staff
  • Accountable for effective coordination with partners and consultants throughout the schematic and design development phases

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or related discipline required
  • 10-15+ years of professional experience
  • LEED GA within 6 months of hire
  • Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, or ILFI Living Future Accreditation
  • Architectural license (preferred)
  • Proficient in BIM, Building codes, Site analysis, Preliminary design studies, Contract documents, Field measurements, Life safety requirements, Specifications, Construction contract administration, Graphic storytelling, Sketching, Advanced knowledge of 2D/3D production software, Advanced Revit, Conceptual modeling tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper, Microsoft Office / Adobe Suite, Visualization tools such as Enscape and VRay, Physical modeling tools such as 3D Printing and Laser cutting, Presentation tools such as InDesign and Photoshop, Environmental Analysis software such Ladybug and Climate Studio

  • Qualified and interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume and work samples (should be a compact, representative sample of your work, no larger than 4MB).

Pay

The annual pay range for this position is between $128,800 and $189,300 commensurate with qualifications.
