Senior Project Controls Specialist
3-year contract with potential for extension. Hybrid position: 3 days a week in office (Raleigh, NC). W2 contract; no PTO or benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.
About the role
The Senior Project Controls Specialist is responsible for initiating and completing routine and complex aspects of project control assignments, including estimating, scheduling, change analysis, and cost control. This role supports project managers on various projects in accordance with Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE) criteria and performs project control assignments using prescribed methods and tools. The position requires advanced acumen in project controls principles and proficient use of associated software tools.
Responsibilities
- Generate periodic project controls analytics, including verification and validation of data to support project controls metrics. Distribute and archive project controls analysis as appropriate.
- Perform change control by tracking, trending, and initiating action for changes to project scope, schedule, and cost. Analyze change requests, gain approval, and distribute them in compliance with internal governance and standards.
- Lead benchmarking and self-assessment initiatives relevant to project controls functions. Summarize improvement opportunities, formulate adoption of best practices, and address performance gaps.
- Support Project Managers in developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project schedules, cost estimates, and cash flow reports. Track and report project status, perform variance, earned value, and critical path analyses.
- Create and maintain project estimates, ensuring inclusion of raw materials, labor rates, manufactured materials/equipment, and current industry data. Manage estimates according to PMCoE Estimating Standard.
- Maintain effective relationships with customers, resolve quality issues, and complete assignments as negotiated. Demonstrate proficiency in conflict resolution and achieving win-win outcomes.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in project controls.
- Proficiency in project controls methodologies and software tools.
- Must have P6 and Excel experience.
- Maximo, PowerPlan, SAP, or EcoSys experience is a plus.
Pay
$60.00 - $70.00/hour.
Schedule
Hybrid: 3 days per week in office.
