About the role
The Senior Project Manager/Project Architect will lead project teams within the GMC Architecture Community framework, applying architectural principles and practices to deliver exceptional projects.
Responsibilities
- Leads project team within GMC Architecture Community framework, respecting team structure, project roles, and utilizing production tools and standards.
- Shares and contributes to multi-office architecture practice, learning and implementing best practices for delivering exceptional projects.
- Applies broad general knowledge of architectural principles and practices, and demonstrates proven ability to apply them.
- Functions effectively within multi-disciplinary teams, managing multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects.
- Understands the entire project process, from development/scoping to design and construction.
- Designs and details complete projects, systems components, or processes.
- Prepares complete project documents, including Project Manuals/Specifications.
- Understands economic and decision analysis principles, including financial, regulatory, and environmental issues.
- Uses proficiently Revit Architecture and complementary design tools.
- Sets tasks for and directs architects, technicians, and administrative staff.
- Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of architectural work.
- Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
- Performs most assignments independently, with instructions regarding general results expected.
- Interacts with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others.
- Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of architectural assignments.
- Demonstrates leadership skills and continuous improvement in decision-making, time management, and delegation.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture from an accredited architectural program.
- Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Registered Architect or completed NCARB Program.
- Proficient in Revit.
- Able to listen and communicate effectively.
- A self-starter, team player, and able to establish good working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, team members, and other employees.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Able to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Able to adapt to changing business needs.
- Able to use good judgment and make timely decisions.
Travel Requirements
GMC Architecture is a nationwide practice with clients, completed projects, and active projects in 36 states. Travel to project sites may be required.
