Senior Project Architect
About the role
AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and experienced Senior Project Architect to join our Buildings + Places business line in Houston, Austin or Dallas Texas. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead design efforts, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and deliver innovative solutions for a diverse range of projects, including commercial, industrial, and municipal sectors.
Responsibilities
Design Leadership: Spearhead the design process for projects across commercial, industrial, logistics, and interiors sectors, ensuring innovative and client-focused solutions.
Project Coordination: Oversee all phases of project delivery, from conceptual design to construction administration, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, consultants, and other stakeholders, to integrate architectural and technical solutions.
Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for project-related communications.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior architects and design staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
Technical Expertise: Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability standards, while maintaining a high level of technical accuracy in project documentation.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Architecture undergraduate degree. 6+ years of professional experience in architectural design and project management or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Licensed Architect in the state of Texas.
Qualifications
Proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp, as well as visualization tools like Enscape or Lumion.
Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and sustainability practices.
