Senior Programmer Analyst II (2 Positions)

The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is seeking a Senior Programmer Analyst II to be assigned to work at Las Positas College in Livermore, CA.

About the role

Under general supervision (Programmer Analyst I/II) or direction (Senior Programmer Analyst I/II/III), program, design, develop, implement, and support application systems; and provide technical support of the District’s administrative computer software.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex programming and assume basic duties in systems analysis;
• Perform systems analysis and programming at the highest level of complexity and technical challenge;
• Assume some responsibility for database systems administration or operating systems administration;
• Provide project coordination, technical leadership, and technical direction to other ITS staff;
• Resolve technical problems on his/her own initiative and consult with management staff on major strategic issues.

Requirements

• Qualifying experience in systems analysis and programming;
• Ability to resolve technical problems independently or with consultation;
• Knowledge of application systems and utilities;
• Experience with database systems administration or operating systems administration;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field;
• Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role;
• Licenses/Certifications: Relevant professional certifications preferred.
