Summary
Under general supervision, analyzes requirements and develops computer programs.
- Develops and maintains project plans outlining plan design, schedule and cost estimate, programming and sing timetables, status reports, and application software package evaluations
- Coincides with client to prototype, refine, s, and debug programs to meet needs
- Writes, debugs, compiles, ss and installs program modifications and new programs or modules
- Recommends hardware and software platforms, DBMS, and language
- Evaluates application program and system design for compliance with standards and functional requirements
- Designs and implements system security
- Writes and maintains system documentation, functional specifications, data processing run books, and user manuals
- Evaluates proposed software changes
- Provides production problem resolution and on call support
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Codes job control instructions
- Defines and documents client’s problems and areas for improvement, alternative (EDP and non-EDP) solutions, and the most cost beneficial recommendations
- Aids client with long range planning
- Aids with department’s long-range planning
- Aids with client training, sing, and system implementation
Qualifications
- Minimum Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with emphasis in computers or related area, with three to five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
- Communication Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical documents such operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to clearly and concisely write technical, conceptual and administrative project information; Ability to speak effectively before clients, personnel and management, and vendors.
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of at least one of PNMs hardware/software platforms; The ability to develop and implement systems, to code and s new applications, and to meet current and projected client needs; In-depth knowledge of one high level programming language, the applicable job control and utilities; In-depth understanding of database system software and database management; Basic knowledge of various languages, DBMS, and hardware platforms to be able to recommend which is best for an application; Basic knowledge of networks, local area networks, and various types of workstations.
Competencies
- Ability to provide analysis in project, program, and database design for business
- Knowledge of project management areas such as estimating, tracking, training, documenting, and scheduling
- Basic knowledge of CASE tools, information engineering techniques, and the system development life-cycle process
- Ability to evaluate software packages and the efficiency and effectiveness of large in-house or package systems independently
- Ability to analyze the impact of enhancements and production problems effectively
- Ability to assist with assessing project benefits and priorities
Desired Certifications
- CCURE 9000 Technical or Administrator Certification (or equivalent ACS certification)
- Vendor-issued or recognized certification demonstrating advanced proficiency in enterprise access control system configuration, administration, and troubleshooting
- Genetec Certification (Security Center Operator, Technician, or equivalent) Certification validating hands-on expertise with video management systems, access control integration, and incident investigation workflows within Genetec or comparable platforms
- Security Operations / Physical Security Professional Certification One Or More Of The Following (or Equivalent) Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Physical Security Professional (PSP) Vendor or industry-recognized certification related to security operations centers (SOC), physical security technology, or guard force management systems (e.g., TrackTik).
