Senior Program Manager, Rental Strategy, Middle Mile Fleet
About the role
The Global Fleet and Products (GFP) Middle Mile Fleet team is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead new programs aimed at making Amazon the leader in sustainable transportation. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, working closely with various departments to bring innovative solutions to market.
Responsibilities
Drive new programs to enhance sustainability in transportation.
Work cross-functionally with Business Development, Core Operations, Legal, Finance, Network Planning, and executive teams to bring products to market.
Own variable fleet strategy for North America Middle Mile power units, including operation plan, budget, rental vehicle specification, rental process, contracts, procurement, delivery, and disposition.
Negotiate and manage third-party rental partnerships to ensure adequate capacity during peak and year-round operations.
Perform financial analysis and budget tracking for variable fleet programs, making data-driven decisions to optimize costs.
Develop strategies to improve fleet utilization, increase acceptance rates, and balance supply constraints with operational demands.
Serve as the escalation point for rental vehicles, demonstrating strong communication skills and knowing when to escalate appropriately.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast capacity needs and implement process improvements that drive operational excellence.
Act as the Single Threaded Leader for all power unit safety incidents and establish standard work for future incidents.
Qualifications
5+ years of program or project management experience.
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
Experience communicating with VP-level decision makers and business and technology teams through written proposals.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in high-level negotiations, strategic partnerships, and contract management.
Leadership roles in Automotive or Fleet Management.
Ability to independently establish OEM relationships and gather benchmarking data to make data-driven product decisions.
Ability to work in ambiguous environments and overcome challenges with a high degree of flexibility and professionalism.
Proven ability to design workable solutions and drive projects to successful implementation.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with different functional groups, developers, business owners, and senior business leaders.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain strong performance in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
