Senior Program Manager - Hardware PMO

About the role

This role is part of Motorola Solutions' effort to build talent pipelines for future hardware development programs. It involves directing complex RF Site Hardware projects from concept to global deployment, operating in a hybrid work model (at least 3 days per week in Schaumburg, IL).

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Leadership: Direct RF Site Hardware projects from concept through factory release.
  • Program Governance: Lead executive program reviews, produce timely reporting, and coordinate cross-functional deliverables.
  • Scope & Change Control: Implement controlled change management processes and interventions.
  • Technical Integration: Partner closely with Hardware/Software Engineering Managers and System Architects.
  • Supply Chain Synchronization: Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain Program Managers.
  • Risk Mitigation & Sustained Product Engineering: Utilize core program management tools to resolve complex issues and translate technical risks into program impacts.
  • Cross-Functional Issue Resolution: Direct multi-disciplinary teams to quickly analyze and resolve supply chain, customer, or quality issues.
  • Supplier Change Engineering: Interface with supply chain partners to evaluate, approve, and manage change requests.
  • Technical Aptitude: Engage directly with engineering managers and system architects to evaluate technical risks and drive product solutions.
  • PM Toolset Mastery: Demonstrate advanced command of program management, scheduling, budget tracking, and critical path tools.
  • Written and Verbal Communication: Convey complex program metrics across organizational levels, adapt presentations, and deliver clear status reporting.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Build trusted working relationships and influence matrixed, global teams.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Evaluate unstated assumptions, drive change management, and navigate changing priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of program management experience in a high-tech environment

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of program management frameworks and proactive problem-solving
  • Experience with technical integration, supply chain synchronization, risk mitigation, and issue resolution
  • Advanced command of program management tools and excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
