Location

This position requires residency in Pennsylvania. Candidates based in the Pittsburgh area are strongly preferred; candidates elsewhere in Pennsylvania will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Direct all phases of the client program, from inception through completion, leading primarily through your team.
• Own the cost, implementation, and performance of the program, including forecasting and financial reporting.
• Participate in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes.
• Coordinate the preparation of business plans, work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of the contract.
• Ensure the program’s approach stays aligned with current market trends, program goals, and client needs.
• Serve as the primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with the client to discuss cost, schedule, and performance.
• Develop new business or expand the program’s scope with the client.
• Analyze problem and opportunity areas within the program and evaluate options.
• Evaluate performance and make recommendations on program and marketing actions.
• Establish milestones, monitor adherence to program plans and schedules, identify problems, and drive solutions—such as reallocating resources or adjusting contractual specifications.
• Determine the profitability and viability of program enhancements.
• Develop strategies to ensure effective program performance relative to market opportunity, working closely with functional groups across the program’s life cycle.
• Direct the work of a cross‑functional program team spanning technical, marketing, operations, analytics, and administrative areas.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of project or program management experience.
• 5+ years of people‑management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MS or MBA preferred.
• Experience managing a large program (typically $5–10 M in annual revenue) or a large portfolio of smaller client contracts.
• Experience leading contract creation and ensuring compliance and client satisfaction.
• Direct and coordinate a program team of roughly 50+ people across multiple functions.
• People‑management experience with 2–5 direct reports plus contractors, with a track record of delegating and developing team members.
• Comfort operating in strategic, high‑complexity, high‑risk programs.
• Proven ability to lead process and tool improvement initiatives.
• Strong client‑facing communication skills; polished, credible, and responsive.
• Strong business and financial acumen; comfortable owning forecasting and financial reporting.
• Ability to create technical content and intellectual property as needed.

Compensation

Target compensation: $120,000 – $130,000 plus bonus. Salary range: $97,600 – $146,400. Salary is determined based on internal equity, market data, applicant’s skills and relevant experience, and applicable degrees or certifications. The role does not include sponsorship or support for immigration status or work authorization; applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
