Senior Program Manager
About the role
AEC is seeking a Program Manager to support our Salt Lake City Aerostructures division. This position will direct all phases of programs from inception through completion including the program management, development and closure of change proposals, scope growth opportunities, and cost reduction activities. PM is responsible for the safety, quality, schedule, technical performance and cost (P&L responsibility) of company programs or subsystems of major programs. PM is the primary customer interface and is responsible for cultivating customer relationship.
Responsibilities
- Direct all phases of programs from inception through completion including the program management, development and closure of change proposals, scope growth opportunities, and cost reduction activities.
- Lead new or established development, production or services program(s) for major components or medium systems.
- Measure and report on program performance.
- Apply advanced principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to provide solutions to a variety of program requirements.
- Manage financial risks associated with program execution.
- Lead program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Establish program Statement of Work and milestones; continually monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identify program problems and obtain solutions.
- Provide support to the business management team in ensuring alignment and reconciliation between the program management and execution teams.
- Participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.
- Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, performance Statement of Work (SOW) and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
- Act as primary customer contact for program activities.
- Lead development, production or services program(s) for major components or medium systems.
- Manage proposal efforts.
- Serve as primary customer contact for program information.
- Manage business development within current customer base and/or for new customers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of project, program or related experience.
- BS required in Engineering, Business or Finance; MS desired.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing government contracts required.
- Experience in budgeting, profit and loss management.
- Experience in proposal writing.
- Aerospace Experience.
- Ability to lead and direct others using influence.
- Strong Business Acumen.
- Strong communication and team building skills.
- PMP or equivalent required.
- Familiarity and experience in managing ITAR data.
- LEAN training desired.
