About the role
This is a Software System Engineer position supporting the IFMC AMD Mission Command Product Office, a government program office addressing Army Air and Missile Defense systems, with focus on Mission Command systems. The candidate will work with contractors, government civilians, and system operators in an Agile workflow, using an MBSE approach to document system-level features.
Responsibilities
- Develop system-level features that describe MEI and CSCI behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria to guide software implementation.
- Lead reviews and adjudicate comments made against the features.
Requirements
- US Citizenship and ability to work on-site at the customer location in Huntsville, AL.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field; or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree.
- 10 or more years of system engineering experience.
- IBCS experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: tactical command and control systems, tactical weapons systems, tactical sensor systems, software, hardware, requirements decomposition, or MBSE tools and languages.
- Employment history of taking initiative and being a team player in a small, Agile team environment.
- Willingness to engage various levels of stakeholders to ensure software meets the needs of intended users.
- Active US Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment.
Qualifications
- Strong technical background in system engineering principles and experience supporting DoD programs, especially in an Army Air and Missile Defense program, is highly desired.
- Hands-on experience creating models in Cameo or MagicDraw using SysML and UAF.
- Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence and SAFe Agile experience are a plus.
