Senior Software Systems Engineer

About the Role
ENSCO Avionics, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Sr Software Systems Engineer skilled in software integration and verification for embedded avionic engine and flight control systems. The test software will be developed using C code or customer-based scripts and run in a lab environment on test simulation systems. Knowledge of hardware integration and debug will be a plus though not required for the position. Integration will include software emulators and debuggers to control the system down to the lowest level of operation. The position will require the development of formal Requirements Based Test procedures. The requirements, test procedures, and results will be placed in a CM system and traced via DOORS to meet DO-178C standards. The role includes a mix of requirements review, software development, simulation testing, and system-level testing in an avionic lab environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop test software using C code or customer-based scripts for embedded avionic systems.
- Perform software integration and verification in a lab environment.
- Develop formal Requirements Based Test procedures.
- Trace requirements, test procedures, and results in a CM system via DOORS to meet DO-178C standards.
- Conduct requirements review, software development, simulation testing, and system-level testing.
- Utilize software emulators and debuggers for system control and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years of related experience.
- Experience with avionic software development through the Stage of Involvement (SOI) process.
- Experience with formal requirements and developing software test cases and procedures.
- Experience with HW/SW debug for embedded control systems.
- Excellent verbal communication skills for effective collaboration in teleconferences with suppliers, clients, and colleagues.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in team environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
Qualifications (Desired)
- Experience with lab environment integration.
- Experience with embedded software environments such as VxWorks or similar real-time toolsets.
- Experience with test equipment script languages such as CsGTI or Python.
- Experience with configuration systems such as RAZOR, Synergy, and GitHub.

Pay
Salary Range: $95,000 - $140,000 USD
