Senior Program Director, Housing & Homeless Services

About the Role
The Senior Program Director, Housing and Homeless Services, will lead all of the Y Social Impact Center’s Community-Based Housing in King County. This position reports to the Executive Director of the Y Social Impact Center, collaborates with the Y Senior Leadership Team, and works closely with the Housing and Homeless Leadership Team to set the programmatic vision, philosophy, and approach to meet our mission of interrupting trauma and providing a pathway for all people, especially young people, to reach their full potential.
The Senior Program Director oversees all Community-Based Housing programs and contracts serving youth and young adults at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Program areas include Prevention Services, Navigation Diversion, Rapid Rehousing, and scattered-site Permanent Supportive Housing. The position directly supervises program directors who oversee programs and staff.
This role is based at the Social Impact Center Y, the social services branch of YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS). The Social Impact Center Y serves 5,000 children, youth, young adults, and families annually across King County, aiming to strengthen young people’s ability to develop to their fullest potential through strategies such as reducing risk factors, navigating systems, ensuring stability, and building competencies and social capital. Programs include housing, behavioral health, foster care licensing, violence prevention, education, and employment.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise program directors who oversee multiple contracts, ensuring budgetary and programmatic compliance.
- Provide development and leadership to establish new program activities and expand programs within the community in accordance with Association and Branch strategic plans.
- Advise the YSIC Vice President and Senior Leadership Team on key decisions related to housing and homeless services programs in alignment with the strategic plan, agency vision, mission, and values.
- Seek new strategic opportunities to stabilize and grow housing and homeless services programs, including researching grant opportunities, building relationships with funders and partners, and leading grant application development.
- Lead the integration of youth voice into programming, including feedback on existing programs and guidance in establishing new programs.
- Compile program statistics and provide data and reports as required.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
- Provide leadership and support for the YSIC leadership team with project management and additional support.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, schools, and agencies related to family support programs.
- Develop, produce, and distribute program information to promote programs in accordance with branch marketing plans.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and all programs comply with YMCA, contract, accreditation, and relevant regulations.
- Ensure high-quality programs through innovative program development, evaluations, and ongoing staff training.

Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older.
- BA degree or higher in psychology, social services, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- 6+ years of professional or volunteer experience working with high-risk, system-involved (homeless, justice, behavioral health, foster care) youth and/or young adults, or equivalent community-based or informal service to this population.
- 4+ years of experience with staff and volunteer supervision, program development, and budget management.
- Experience with and knowledge of youth behavior management and child abuse prevention.
- Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to visit sites and community organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Life experience with poverty, child welfare, homelessness, behavioral health, or youth violence, and a desire to use that experience to improve the lives of others.
- Master’s degree related to non-profit leadership (public administration, social work, business, or related field).
- Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
- Ability to speak any language in addition to English.
- Trained in performance excellence standards, such as Project Management Professional, Pathways to Excellence, or Lean.
Supervision
Responsible for managing and overseeing specific employees, ensuring they meet organizational standards and objectives while adhering to company policies. Includes directly managing day-to-day performance, hiring, monitoring workflows, addressing performance issues, and employee concerns.

Pay
$108,000–115,000/year.
Schedule
This is a full-time hybrid position, expected to be in-office at least 2 days per week with locations in Seattle and Auburn. Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
