About the role
The Senior Professional Engineer, Mechanical position is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining mechanical systems in commercial and industrial facilities. This role requires expertise in HVAC systems and a strong background in engineering principles.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop HVAC systems for new and existing buildings
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure project compliance with codes and standards
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems
- Provide technical support and guidance to field staff
- Perform inspections and maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance
Requirements
- Professional Engineer license in Mechanical Engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in HVAC design and implementation
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including air handling units, chillers, and cooling towers
- Experience with building automation systems and energy management software
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering software
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies
