Senior Production Specialist

Position Responsibility

Performs typical machine operations to support the manufacturing division. Operates KVAL and/or similar high-speed door machining equipment to cut various door preps on the edge and face of architectural wood doors as described on written production tags. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety rules. Performs prescribed machine setup, tooling and calibration for making door preps.

Tasks

• Beveling, cutting, boring, chiseling, drilling, sanding and de-burring
• Intimately familiar with door hardware templates and their application to precise door preps
• Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the task stated above
• Exercises focused mental concentration in the presence of high-speed cutting and milling equipment

Special Requirements

• Prior door machine experience a definite plus
• Past experience in commercial woodworking (doors, mill work, cabinets, etc.)
• Can read and interpret drawings and order tags
• Understanding of CAD drafting with some past experience a plus
• Can perform simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools
• Works well in a fast-paced, TEAM environment
• Good communication skills both verbal and written
• PC skills a definite plus
