Senior Production Planner
Job Summary
The Senior Production Planner at Supernus Pharmaceuticals is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing materials/products throughout the product lifecycle. This role ensures alignment between trade and physician sample demand and supply chain parameters with receiving markets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Interfaces with external customers and suppliers to develop master production schedules and purchase plans.
- Identifies supply decision points; plan material receipt and production requirements ensuring supply objectives are met without compromising material availability.
- Executes planning process: Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and Master Production Scheduling (MPS).
- Plans and executes launch, resupply, and unanticipated event inventory strategies.
- Identifies and proactively resolves issues through consistent, timely, and exception-based reporting in support of upstream, lateral, and downstream needs.
- Manages and performs inventory level monitoring and monthly raw material/bulk item reconciliation.
- Provides oversight of inventory management, policies, and practices.
- Utilizes key systems for information gathering supporting: Inventory Analysis, Replenishment, Forecasting, and Import/Export activities.
- Manages and performs Item Master Maintenance of Non and Pure-buy items, including new item set-up.
- Supports business and SI & OP processes through weekly and monthly metric maintenance and reporting.
- Develops and implements planning tools and metrics that improve the overall planning process.
- Works with other departments as required to produce and distribute products.
- Supports departmental process improvement initiatives (e.g., developing SOPs, Work Instructions, etc.).
- Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
Knowledge & Other Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- APICS certification is desirable.
- 4+ years of production planning experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated industry preferred with familiarity in: MRPII processes and systems, Microsoft Suite Products, Supply Chain Concepts to include DRP and Inventory Control, and a working knowledge of Supply Chain Concepts to include DRP and Inventory Control.
- Demonstrated customer service acumen and the ability to interface with various internal/external organizations to achieve desired customer service results.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Availability to travel 5% of the time.

- Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or carrying objects.
- Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
- Position may require occasional bending, stooping, walking and standing to complete tasks.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen, iPad, or other electronic device; and extensive reading.
- The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
- May be required to work in a clean and/or sterile laboratory environment occasionally and wear personal protective equipment to include but not limited to gloves, safety glasses or goggles, face shields, lab coats, aprons, ear plugs and mask to include respirators.
Compensation
The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $100,000 to $110,000. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual’s salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs. You also will be able to participate in a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to: health, dental, vision, paid time off, 401k company match, company paid life insurance and health and wellness benefits. The total compensation package for this position also includes other compensation elements such as stock equity awards, employee stock purchase programs and participation in our Company’s discretionary annual bonus program.
