Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Sequence production schedules to achieve on-time delivery metrics and optimize production.
- Manage work order releases considering material requirements planning.
- Work with production and other departments to set weekly production targets.
- Utilize capacity and demand data to create recovery dates for late orders and lead times.
- Identify and address upcoming capacity bottlenecks and implement solutions.
- Present data and issues clearly to all levels of the organization.
- Interface with manufacturing personnel, purchasing personnel, etc., on material status and production planning issues.
- Communicate with Inside Sales on prioritization, delays, and lead times.
- Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CBI policies and procedures.
- Lead and assist in special projects.
- Recommend and utilize tool improvements in the planning area.
- Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter, and be detail-oriented.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills in both reading and creating data.
- Understanding of purchasing, MRP continuous improvement methodology, inventory control, and lot control.
- Works independently with minimal supervision and is a self-starter.
- Strong cross-functional ability and understanding of other production areas.
- Advanced planning knowledge such as SQL, APICS certifications, PowerBI, or advanced Excel.
- Education and/or experience: Bachelor’s in science in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or other related field preferred; at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and working with an MRP/ERP system preferred; prefer 10+ years of experience in planning.
- Licenses and certifications: APIC’s certification preferred.
Physical Demands
- The work is primarily sedentary, although there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items, such as paper or books, weighing less than 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
