Responsibilities
- Demonstrates and meets qualifications on all Blending or Extrusion operational areas.
- Demonstrates leadership and teamwork in all phases of the operation.
- Sets up and starts all machines, checking all controls for adherence to mixing/blending or extruding procedures.
- Weighs ingredients to meet recipe specifications and inserts into machinery; or ensures the correct ingredients are delivered to the work area and inserts pre-blended materials into machinery.
- Monitors production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Troubleshoots equipment and processing issues.
- Operates machinery to mix or extrude the ingredients according to operating procedures.
- Examines materials visually or with hands to ensure conformance to established standards.
- May take samples to quality control for testing. Follows lab instructions for adding raw materials to the batch to bring it into specifications.
- Labels finished product.
- Refers issues/problems to lead/supervisor for disposition.
- Performs all required machine cleaning.
- Completes and maintains all required SAP transactions. Demonstrates expertise in the use of SAP.
- Documents work completed. Accurately completes and updates required paperwork such as production logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
- Participates in training new employees and re-training present departmental employees in processes and methods as required.
- Completes all necessary documentation at the end of shift.
- Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
- Supports the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company.
- Follows applicable ISO, EH&S rules and guidelines while performing any procedure.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical/Environmental Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and/or hear. Occasionally required to sit.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally handle up to 250 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc.
- Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock, vibration, non-hazardous chemical agents, and outside weather conditions.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
- Frequently exposed to vibration.
- Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with the exception of high noise areas.
Pay
$22 - $25 per hour
Shift Differential: $2.50
Schedule
Shift: 11 PM to 7:30 AM
Work Days: Sunday Evening to Friday Morning
Reports to: Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor/Lead, Production Lead.
