About the role

As a Senior Production Manager, you will maintain high production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest working environment possible. This role requires a deep understanding and control of the production process, accurate record keeping, general line maintenance, and staffing.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high-performing team through effective hiring, training, and retention strategies.
  • Provide counseling and support for personal and professional issues; educate team members on benefits, compensation, and company policies.
  • Guide the team in pre-shift stretches and rotate workstations throughout the shift.
  • Ensure compliance with federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements; maintain non-union program.
  • Determine and recommend manpower needs; oversee designated shift operations.
  • Ensure all workstations are staffed before production starts.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies; maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Maintain competence in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, security, and food safety.
  • Ensure all machinery passes USDA inspection before production.
  • Solve problems effectively and follow up accordingly; work with department heads to meet production quality and metric goals.
  • Provide continuous education on the importance of quality.
  • Manage, evaluate, and train production supervisors.
  • Promote safety daily and conduct monthly safety meetings.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Responsible for entire plant operation in the absence of the Plant Manager, including maintenance, shipping/receiving, sanitation, quality assurance, accounting, safety, and material management.
  • Lead by example, accept and delegate responsibility, display sound judgment, and make efficient decisions with follow-up.
  • Collaborate with department heads to meet safety, production, quality, and yield goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of related experience in manufacturing; food manufacturing experience highly preferred.
  • Standard computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of communicating with all levels of team members, from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage subordinate supervisors, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Must reside in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this role.

Pay

Base pay range: $102,000.00 - $170,000.00. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses.
