Senior Production Engineer – Listed Derivatives Trading

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Engineer to provide critical support for the Listed Derivatives trading desk. Working directly on the trading floor, you will help ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of real-time trading systems. You will partner closely with Traders and Development teams to troubleshoot complex production issues, optimize trading workflows, and drive continuous improvement across the technology environment. This role is ideal for a strong problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can combine technical expertise with business awareness and clear communication.

This position is located at client site in New York, NY or Jacksonville, FL.

Responsibilities

• Incident Management & Postmortem Excellence: Respond rapidly to production incidents with data-driven decision making, minimizing downtime and financial impact. Lead root cause analysis and conduct blameless postmortems.
• Monitoring & Automation: Enhance application health monitoring and implement automation to reduce manual intervention and improve system resilience.
• Communication: Provide clear, timely updates to business stakeholders and senior technologists during incidents and follow-ups.
• Collaboration: Partner with development teams to design and deploy fault-tolerant, scalable solutions aligned with business goals.
• Governance & Compliance: Enforce and adhere to change, incident, and problem management policies, as well as bank-specific non-financial risk frameworks.
• Mentorship: Support the growth of junior team members and promote a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
• Maintain and monitor critical applications while following established change, incident, and problem management processes.
• Contribute to an engineering culture focused on automation, reducing manual effort, improving resilience, and lowering operational risk and cost.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a production support, SRE, or DevOps role within a trading or financial services environment.
• Trading desk knowledge – Listed Derivatives. Need to work directly with traders in a live trading environment.
• Knowledge of the Fixed Income product set, related market events, market data feeds, and an understanding of the trading lifecycle (order routing, execution, and settlement).
• Proven expertise in production support, incident management, root cause analysis, and service reliability, ensuring high system availability and SLA compliance.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $95,500.00 - $167,200.00.
