Senior Product Marketing Manager - Retail, Hospitality, Public Sector, Matterport - Arlington, VA
About Matterport
Matterport, a CoStar Group brand, is transforming the built world through its pioneering 3D digital twin and AI‑driven spatial data platform. By combining immersive technology, precision data, and advanced visualization capabilities, Matterport empowers professionals across industries—including commercial real estate, hospitality, architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and residential—to market, manage, and analyze properties in entirely new ways.
About the Role
Matterport is hiring a Senior Product Marketing Manager to own positioning and go‑to‑market for enterprises that operate large portfolios of physical locations. Reporting to the Director of Product Marketing, the role covers retail and restaurants, travel and hospitality, and government and public sector (state, local, and education). The focus is on building dedicated programs for multi‑site operators, addressing rollout, standards enforcement, and long buying cycles, while collaborating closely with the broader team.
Responsibilities
- Own positioning, messaging, and go‑to‑market for retail & restaurants, travel & hospitality, and government & public sector.
- Build a differentiated point of view for each vertical, grounded in how large‑portfolio enterprises actually operate.
- Develop retail & restaurants into a consistent, measurable market and carry accountability for its growth.
- Build and test the travel & hospitality plan, reporting market feedback.
- Identify commonalities across multi‑site operators and create unified arguments rather than separate versions.
- Sequence portfolio focus each quarter, deciding depth versus maintenance and making the business case for those choices.
- Engage directly with customers and prospects regularly, bringing back insights—including contradictory feedback.
- Understand how multi‑site enterprises evaluate, pilot, and roll out technology across many locations.
- Learn public‑sector procurement cycles, contract vehicles, and approval processes.
- Track competitors and translate insights into positioning and product feedback.
- Represent Matterport credibly at industry events, trade shows, and association meetings.
- Arm the field with sales materials: industry narratives, discovery guidance, competitive positioning, and customer proof.
- Create late‑stage materials for long‑cycle deals, including procurement documentation, security/compliance answers, business cases, and pilot‑to‑rollout proof.
- Collaborate directly with account executives and sales leadership, revising content that does not land.
- Develop customer stories and references that resonate with multi‑site and public‑sector buyers.
- Support demand generation with messaging and offers for campaigns in each industry.
- Own the numbers: be accountable for conversion metrics, especially moving engaged buyers to qualified opportunities.
- Address late‑stage stalls in public‑sector opportunities.
- Report performance of each industry with clear insights on what is working and what is being changed.
- Use AI in workflow for buyer research, competitive monitoring, and content production, and share learnings with the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited, not‑for‑profit, in‑person university or college.
- 6+ years in B2B product marketing, industry marketing, or vertical marketing, including at least three years marketing to a defined industry audience rather than to a product category.
- Direct experience marketing to multi‑site retail, restaurant, or franchise enterprises, or to the technology and services those operators purchase (anchor requirement).
- Demonstrated ability to build positioning from first‑hand buyer conversations rather than from product documentation.
- Experience marketing into long, multi‑stakeholder buying cycles where procurement, security, and finance all have a say.
- Record of producing sales material the field actually used, with the judgment to know the difference.
- Funnel literacy – ability to describe how your work changed conversion or pipeline, with numbers.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Comfort carrying more than one industry at a time, with discipline to sequence rather than spread thin.
- Practical AI fluency in your own working process.
- Track record of commitment to prior employers.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience marketing to hotels, resorts, venues, or travel and event operators.
- Public‑sector marketing experience across federal, state, local, education, or public safety, including familiarity with procurement cycles and contract vehicles.
- Experience with construction, store development, or rollout programs inside a multi‑site enterprise.
- Familiarity with facilities management or building operations audiences.
- Enterprise B2B SaaS experience with a direct sales force.
- Familiarity with 3D capture, imaging, spatial data, or visualization technology.
