About the Team
The Patient Experience team is transforming the clinical trial experience for patients and the sites that support them. Every interaction across our applications generates data — and our data products turn that signal into insight, powering engagement analytics, operational reporting, study performance, AI/ML use cases, and downstream consumption across clinical, operational, and commercial teams.
About the role
As Senior Product Manager, Data Products, you'll define and lead the data product strategy across the entire Patient Experience portfolio — spanning both patient-facing and site-facing applications. You'll own how the data generated by these products is productized, governed, and consumed across the enterprise, ensuring alignment with our broader enterprise data product strategy. This is a 0→1 role. You'll be building the data product function for Patient Experience from the ground up — setting the vision, establishing the patterns, and shipping the first generation of products. We're looking for an entrepreneurial, AI-first PM who sees data as the foundation for the next wave of intelligent products and moves fast to prove what's possible. You'll work closely with engineering, architecture, clinical, and business leaders to treat Patient Experience data as a first-class product: trusted, reusable, and high-leverage.
Responsibilities
- Scale the data product function for Patient Experience from 1 → 100 — defining the strategy, operating model, and first wave of products.
- Own the multi-year data product roadmap, ensuring alignment with enterprise data product strategy and governance.
- Lead the productization of data generated across patient and site applications — from discovery through launch and ongoing lifecycle management.
- Champion an AI-first mindset: design data products with AI/ML and agentic use cases as primary consumers, not afterthoughts.
- Translate needs from clinical, site operations, analytics, data science, and commercial teams into clear data product requirements, contracts, and SLAs.
- Set and uphold standards for data quality, lineage, documentation, and observability across all Patient Experience data products.
- Partner with privacy, security, and compliance teams to ensure HIPAA, GDPR, and GxP alignment.
- Influence enterprise-level data strategy and mentor other PMs in the data product community of practice.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of product management experience, with 3+ years focused on data products, data platforms, or analytics/ML products.
- A demonstrated 0→1 track record — you've built products, teams, or functions from scratch in ambiguous environments and thrive without a playbook.
- An entrepreneurial bias for action: you move fast, prototype to learn, and ruthlessly prioritize what matters.
- An AI-first mindset — you actively use AI tools in your own work and design products assuming AI and agents are core consumers and collaborators.
- Prior hands-on experience as an engineer in the data space (data engineering, analytics engineering, platform, or ML engineering), or as a data/solution/enterprise architect.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent deep technical experience.
- Strong understanding of modern data architectures (warehousing, lakehouses, streaming, APIs, data contracts) and comfort with SQL.
- A track record of shipping data products at scale with measurable business impact.
- Excellent communication and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across a complex, multi-team landscape.
Nice to have
- Experience in clinical trials, life sciences, or another regulated industry.
- Familiarity with patient- and site-facing clinical technologies (eCOA/ePRO, eConsent, DCT, CTMS, eSource, wearables) and clinical interoperability standards (CDISC, FHIR).
- Experience shipping LLM-powered features, agentic workflows, or RAG systems — and shaping the data foundations behind them.
