We help the world run better. At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging—but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong.

About the role

This role offers a unique opportunity to deepen your expertise in product management within the Forward-Deployed Engineering teams, part of the Application AI Product & Engineering org. You will engage in hands-on FDE product discovery initiatives that focus on mapping how customers work today, designing how AI will do that work tomorrow, and collaborating closely with customer SMEs and engineering teams to define functional and technical product specifications.

Key objectives include building current-state and target-state processes, authoring product specs that define inputs, outputs/UI, and processing logic, informing Go/No-Go decisions that align with both business goals and user needs, and driving development of products and their ensuing roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Build the As-Is workflow by shadowing real users across their systems, transactions, roles, and pain points.
  • Design the To-Be workflow that shows how the AI feature changes each task.
  • Author the Product Spec — inputs, outputs/UI, and processing logic — and score it for value and feasibility. Products will need to be extensible and configurable for wide consumption across customers.
  • Influence the Go/No-Go decision and secure executive sign-off on the spec.
  • Drive development of the product and its ensuing roadmap and expansion.

Requirements

  • Over 5 years of experience managing and delivering enterprise AI solutions.
  • Over 5 years of experience in enterprise-level product management and 0-to-1 delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving and definition skills, e.g., the ability to map As-Is flows across departments and systems and identify pain points and root causes.
  • Strong detail and engineering orientation, e.g., following the flow from users, through the UI, through processing logic, through APIs and beyond to ensure functional and technical feasibility.
  • Solid foundations in AI — agents and/or ML and/or optimization.
  • Experience with business systems, data landscapes, and how transactions flow across them; knowledge of SAP systems (e.g., S/4, BTP, Joule) is highly preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to prioritize pain points and process areas to deep-dive into in a data-driven format, e.g., process mining and analytics from data extracts, mini financial models.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities to work with diverse customer and engineering teams.
  • A strong plus: knowledge of extensibility, configurability, and polymorphism in the context of product design.

Benefits

  • Build cutting-edge AI and LLM systems used across SAP’s global platform.
  • Work in a high-autonomy, trust-based environment without unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Collaborate with some of the best engineers and product team in the industry in a fast-paced, impact-driven team.
  • Take ownership of projects that directly influence SAP’s AI strategy and product capabilities.
  • Constant learning, skill growth, and great benefits.

Pay

The targeted combined range for this position is $148,600 - $306,300 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
