About the role
The Activation team at Mercury exists to guide customers from their first deposit to their first "aha" moment. This role is central to turning new signups into enduring customers, introducing the full depth of what Mercury can do, and building long-term relationships.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end user journey from deposit to meaningful engagement, increasing the likelihood that customers take their next best step.
- Set the direction and define prioritized roadmaps for the team, focusing on solving user problems, enabling product teams, and maximizing customer value.
- Design systems that drive activation through in-product experiences, lifecycle marketing, and experimentation across various surfaces.
- Develop customer lifecycle strategies for different segments and product surfaces, identifying key inflection points and sequencing the right product interventions.
- Use data and user insights to develop hypotheses, design experiments, and measure impact, focusing on customer progress and business value.
- Help develop sticky experiences that make it simple for customers to adopt and find repeatable value across our platform.
Requirements
- 7+ years of product management experience, ideally with horizontal, platform, or lifecycle teams.
- Strong product intuition, able to turn complex, cross-cutting problems into clear strategy and collaborate effectively with various teams.
- A hands-on approach to execution, comfortable in both strategy and detail work.
- Enthusiasm for working with talented peers and engaging thoughtfully in a collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in a product-led company, owning customer journeys or growth funnels.
- Comfort working across disciplines, collaborating with design, engineering, marketing, and data teams.
- Ability to develop hypotheses, design experiments, and measure impact using data and user insights.
- Strong communication skills to articulate ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with user research and usability testing.
- Understanding of product development processes and methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry, and new hire offers are made based on experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.
Pay
The target new hire base salary ranges for this role are:
- US employees (any location): $200,700 - $250,900
- Canadian employees (any location): CAD 189,700 - 237,100
