Senior Product Counsel – Fully Remote (USA)
About the role
This attorney will join as an early member of the company’s elite and business-focused legal team. This hire will be responsible for supporting product and engineering teams as a trusted legal partner across the full product lifecycle — from early-stage feature development through launch and beyond. This hire will help build privacy-by-design practices into product development. As the product legal function grows, this person will help shape how the team builds responsibly at scale, with particular focus on AI/ML, data privacy, IP, and open-source issues.
Responsibilities
- Support product and engineering teams as a trusted legal partner across the full product lifecycle — from early-stage feature development through launch and beyond.
- Help build privacy-by-design practices into product development.
- Help shape how the team builds responsibly at scale, with particular focus on AI/ML, data privacy, IP, and open-source issues.
- Act as a solutions-oriented advisor and business enabler in a rapidly growing company while maintaining high standards for both legal practice and business ethics.
- Advise on, draft, and review technology licensing and integration partnership agreements with strategic product and ecosystem partners.
- Advises on trademark and brand protection matters.
- Support integration work arising from acquisitions.
- Partner with Security and Privacy teams on incident response.
Requirements
Strong candidates will have a law degree, be admitted to practice in at least one U.S. state, and be permitted to practice in your state of residence. They will have 4 to 8 years of experience practicing in a combination of Big Law and in-house at a tech company, with strong product counseling experience and a strong command of AI/ML issues, privacy (GDPR, CCPA), open-source licensing, and IP. They will have excellent judgment, be business oriented, be a strong communicator and collaborator, be comfortable working with technical and non-technical stakeholders, be innately curious, and be detail oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Experience at a SaaS company, particularly in databases, data infrastructure, or data platforms is a plus.

Excellent judgment, business orientation, communication and collaboration skills, ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders, innate curiosity, attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The total compensation package will vary and depend on the candidate’s level of seniority, number of years of directly relevant experience, and geographic location.
Pay
Compensation is targeted at an annual base salary of $250,000 to $275,000, plus equity.
