Part of Charter Communications, Spectrum News is made up of over 30 hyper-local news and regional sports networks that are constantly expanding and dedicated to producing original, unbiased, and high-quality content. We use innovative journalistic approaches, backed by comprehensive research, to engage and inform viewers on the most essential news, issues, and events taking place in their communities. Responsibilities

• Make editorial decisions, fact-check scripts, and create show rundowns
• Use data to inform decisions and determine the news stories that will air each day
• Serve as the heart of the newsroom – providing leadership, inspiration, and feedback
• Develop strong leadership and management skills
• Read, write, and copyedit scripts
• Make data-informed decisions
• Initiate and control plans for breaking news
• Bring community stories to life across multiple platforms, valuing accuracy and leveraging curiosity and storytelling abilities
• Thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving work environment with new stories and perspectives to uncover

Requirements

Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Qualifications

• Experience: Television news producing - 4+ years, Line producing - 3+ years
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or related field, or comparable television work experience
• Language: Write and speak Spanish and English fluently
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of current events, and familiarity with the local market and industry trends

• Strong attention to detail and passion for news
• Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds

Pay

The base pay for this position generally is between $81,800.00 and $157,200.00. The actual compensation offered will consider skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and certain positions are eligible for additional incentive
