Senior Producer

About the role

This role requires the ability to excel at speed, with editorial agility, and live-broadcast composure, but also prioritizes depth, preparation, and the ability to build an interview that goes somewhere. The person in this role also supervises junior production staff, sets the editorial standard for the team, and serves as a key editorial partner to the Executive Producer.

Responsibilities

• Be the daily engine behind some of the station’s most distinctive programs, including The Roundtable, an award-winning, nationally recognized daily talk program, featuring news, interviews, in-depth discussion, music, and more!
• Supervise junior production staff.
• Set the editorial standard for the team.
• Serve as a key editorial partner to the Executive Producer.

Requirements

• Livestream production experience.
• Genuine curiosity about the news, culture.
• Deep roots in or connection to this region.
• The steadiness to help lead a team through the pressure of daily broadcast.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in radio production, preferably in a news/talk format.
• Experience with audio editing software.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a team.

Skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Knowledge of local and national news trends.
