Senior Processing Services Technician

About the role

Captures and coordinates the cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and dispensing of surgical instruments for daily surgical procedures in compliance with hospital and departmental standards and policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all instruments are properly cleaned, disinfected, and assembled according to established protocols.
• Monitors and maintains equipment and supplies used in the sterile processing area.
• Assists with the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for use in surgical procedures.
• Collaborates with surgical teams to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments and supplies.
• Maintains accurate records of instrument usage and maintenance activities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Successful completion of a Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician program.
• Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through the certification body of Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or the International Association of Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM).
• SPD Technician Certification (CSPDT) through the Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution (CBSPD).
