Responsibilities

  • Define and architect innovative rack-level power distribution topologies (AC, DC, HVDC).
  • Investigate new technologies in solid-state protection, intelligent power switching, and metering, and AI-enabled load balancing.
  • Evaluate and integrate breakthrough approaches such as power sidecar systems, in-rack busbars, and modular busway systems.
  • Translate innovative ideas into manufacturable, standards-compliant solutions.
  • Guide engineering teams in rapid prototyping and proof-of-concepts to validate new concepts.
  • Anticipate industry shifts (AI-scale, 1MW+ racks, OCP-HPR standards) and propose next-gen architectures.
  • Partner with market-leading technology vendors (compute, rack, power components) where appropriate to accelerate development and ensure interoperability.
  • Represent nVent as a leader with a point of view in customer innovation forums and industry standards bodies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience required, with 15+ years preferred—ideally within data center environments, power electronics, or telecom power systems.
  • Experience in architecting innovative electrical systems and bringing new concepts to market.
  • Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience in data center environments, power electronics, or telecom power systems.
  • Knowledge of HVDC adoption and connectorized rack power safety solutions.
  • Ability to anticipate industry shifts and propose next-gen architectures.
  • Experience working with market-leading technology vendors and industry standards bodies.

Pay

Pay transparencynVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply. Compensation Range$123,500.00 - $229,500.00 Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
