Role Context

This role sits within an engineering environment supporting customers across upstream engineering, procurement, and construction management activities. The company has established capabilities across areas including refining, sulphur technology, arctic development, subsea systems, deepwater facilities, nuclear power, and renewable energy. The Senior Principal Electrical Engineer will work within multi-disciplinary project teams and may support projects delivered for both domestic and international customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical engineering services in line with customer requirements, applicable statutory and regulatory standards, project timelines, and budget expectations.
  • Initiate, manage, and where required supervise electrical engineering activities across assigned projects.
  • Act as electrical engineering lead on specific projects, defining requirements, assigning tasks, and supervising progress.
  • Participate in project meetings, prepare progress updates, and follow required checking procedures.
  • Ensure project scope is clearly understood and that changes are managed in line with project change processes.
  • Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, and commissioning, including preparing requisitions, completing technical bid evaluations, and writing purchase orders.
  • Proactively resolve technical discrepancies between project requirements and customer expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and support junior members of the electrical engineering team where required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive relevant experience within electrical engineering.
  • Experience working in a project leadership role.
  • Experience estimating project costs and writing proposal content.
  • Strong technical and practical electrical engineering capability with a consistent record of delivering accurate and timely work.
  • Sound knowledge of fundamental electrical engineering principles and the basic requirements of other engineering disciplines.
  • Sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams within the same or similar industry.
  • Certified Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States (desirable).
