About the role

The Strategic Advisory Team at SLR is seeking a Senior Principal Consultant to lead the Finance Advisory - Transactional Due Diligence practice. This role involves managing and growing the team, providing technical oversight, and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Client-facing, identifying and developing new opportunities
  • Providing clear, concise business-focused findings, recommendations, and options regarding client deliverables
  • Collaborating in a team atmosphere to plan and meet timelines and requirements along with budget goals
  • Developing, tracking, and documenting project expectations and budgets

Requirements

  • Experience performing, managing, and reviewing Environmental Health and Safety Assessments for a wide variety of private equity, legal, financial services, and industrial sector clients in support of global M&A due diligence
  • Experience in proposal preparation, budgeting, and scoping of due diligence related work, as well as building and growing clients
  • Active clients and expertise in client management, internal staff management, and the management of multiple project efforts and project teams, including coordination with staff resources, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Excellent communication and writing skills that include the ability to review and provide feedback on proposals, reports, and other technical documents
  • Strong, relevant employment background, existing clients and client contacts, and a passion for environmental work

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Science, Geology, Business, or related field
  • 15+ years of experience working at a high-level with corporate and/or financial and legal clients
  • Experience evaluating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) programs and initiatives
  • Knowledge of transaction related documents (i.e., purchase agreements, disclosure schedules), environmental insurance policies, and indemnification agreements
  • Experience in managing various levels of consulting staff
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills; detail oriented
  • Able to recognize and evaluate environmental impact, compliance and health and safety risks associated with all types of real estate, commercial and industrial operations, as well as legacy environmental liabilities
  • Ability to work well independently as well as a part of a team
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn and grow as a consultant
  • Able to interface with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, uncertain, high-pressure environment with the ability to change directions and scope quickly

SkillsCapabilities and experience with regulators, including negotiations related to client work objectives, a plus

Pay

Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.
