Senior Practice Engineer – Water/Wastewater

Are you a seasoned engineer driven to make a meaningful impact on communities and the environment? ms is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Engineer with deep water/wastewater industry knowledge to join our growing water team. This hybrid role can be based out of one of our Ohio offices in Columbus, Youngstown, Cleveland, or Akron.

About the Role

As a senior member of our water business unit, you will lead and contribute to impactful projects that design, enhance, and sustain water and wastewater infrastructure for diverse public and private clients. With more than four decades dedicated to improving water quality nationwide, we invite you to bring your expertise and help us continue shaping a more resilient future.

You will provide technical leadership, mentorship, and design expertise on multidisciplinary water/wastewater projects. Your role will include project leadership, quality control, technical review, task management, and support in proposal development, depending on your experience and interests.

• Water Treatment & Distribution
• Wastewater Treatment & Collection
• Water Supply Storage Facilities (Upground Reservoir)
• Pump Stations
• Hydraulic Modeling (Sanitary & Stormwater)

Requirements

• Strong self-motivation and commitment to continuous professional growth
• Proven accountability and high technical standards
• Ability to lead and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
• Advanced critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to mentor junior staff and support technical development within the team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant field
• Professional Engineering (PE) License
• Extensive water/wastewater design experience
• Experience with process modeling or hydraulic modeling software preferred
• Prior experience with task or project management is a plus
