Your Impact

As a Senior Power Service Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning the electrical infrastructure that powers mission-critical environments. Your expertise will help ensure maximum uptime, reliability, and safety for customer operations where power interruptions are not an option. You will work independently and alongside service teams to support preventive maintenance programs, emergency response efforts, equipment startups, and commissioning activities across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on critical electrical power equipment
  • Install, test, startup, and commission RPPs, PDUs, switchgear, UPS systems, and related power distribution infrastructure
  • Interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential reliability and performance risks
  • Respond to emergency service calls and support outage recovery efforts
  • Prepare detailed service reports, maintenance records, and customer-facing documentation
  • Coordinate with customers, contractors, engineers, and facility personnel during maintenance and project activities
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety standards
  • Support acceptance testing and commissioning activities for new installations
  • Travel to customer and project sites to provide field service support
  • Participate in on-call rotations and emergency response coverage as needed

Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience working with electrical power systems, critical facilities, or industrial equipment
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC power systems and electrical distribution
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and single-line diagrams
  • Experience utilizing electrical testing, commissioning, and diagnostic equipment
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety practices
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in data centers, hospitals, or other mission-critical facilities
  • Certification or formal training related to power distribution equipment
  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or similar safety certifications

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Employees must be able to hear, speak, and communicate effectively. Work occurs in data center, industrial, and mission-critical environments with potential exposure to electrical hazards, noise, varying temperatures, and construction conditions. Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call emergency response, may be required. Physical requirements include bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead. Employees must be able to lift and carry equipment and tools, navigate stairways, work in confined spaces, and safely perform work at elevated heights using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts. Employees must be capable of wearing required PPE and working safely around energized electrical equipment. Good vision, color differentiation, hearing, and situational awareness are essential for success in this role.
