About the role
Konik is partnering with an innovative engineering and manufacturing company seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and testing of advanced DC-DC power systems used within high-performance electronic test equipment. This role combines hands-on electrical design, power electronics development, system validation, and technical leadership. The opportunity includes leading complex engineering projects, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, sales, and customer teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of high-power DC-DC switching power supplies and electronic systems.
- Perform circuit design, analog simulation, component selection, schematic development, and PCB layout support.
- Develop and optimize digitally controlled power systems using microcontrollers and embedded technologies.
- Create and execute hardware validation plans, diagnostic tools, and testing procedures to verify system performance.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical designs and support product improvements throughout the development lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership on engineering projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.
- Develop engineering documentation, including user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and technical support materials.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to define product requirements and deliver effective engineering solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-4+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
- Strong experience designing power electronics systems, including DC-DC switching power supplies.
- Experience with high-current, high-power, digitally controlled power systems preferred.
- Experience with PCB design, schematic capture, component selection, and hardware validation.
- Experience with embedded microcontrollers and hardware/software integration.
- Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while leading technical projects and supporting a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Ability to travel up to 5% domestically and internationally.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Project leadership or engineering project management experience.
- Cadence Allegro PCB design experience.
- Thermal management or thermal control experience.
- Verilog FPGA logic design experience.
Pay
$110k - $160k based on experience plus discretionary profit-sharing bonus opportunity.
