Senior Power Electronics Engineer
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Power Electronics Engineer to design, build, and test high-power industrial electronic products. The right candidate will have practical experience developing high-voltage and high-current hardware and taking designs from concept through prototype testing and production.
Responsibilities
- Design AC/DC and DC/DC power-conversion circuits
- Develop high-voltage, high-current, and three-phase power systems
- Design circuits using SCRs, MOSFETs, IGBTs, and gate drivers
- Develop sensing, isolation, control, and protection circuits
- Create schematics and guide PCB layout
- Select components and perform electrical and thermal calculations
- Bring up, test, troubleshoot, and validate prototypes
- Support EMI/EMC testing, safety certification, and production
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in power electronics hardware design
- Strong knowledge of power-conversion and analog circuit design
- Experience with high-voltage and three-phase systems
- Strong hands-on laboratory and troubleshooting experience
- Experience with Altium Designer or a similar design tool
- Familiarity with power-electronics simulation tools
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC, grounding, isolation, creepage, and clearance
- Ability to independently take ownership of a hardware design
- Experience with digital power control, industrial products, and UL/IEC certification is preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Employees must be able to hear, speak, and communicate effectively. Work occurs in data center environments with potential exposure to electrical hazards, noise, and varying temperatures. Flexible hours, including nights and weekends, may be required. Physical requirements include bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead. Must lift at least 50 lbs and work at heights up to 90 ft using ladders, scaffolds, or lifts.
