Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, simulate, prototype, and validate power conversion systems and topologies.
- Develop and implement both analog and digital control loops.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including product specifications, schematics, and interface control documents.
- Conduct design reviews and collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
- Support product transition to manufacturing, including design for manufacturability and test readiness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production and field environments.
- Mentor and support the development of team members, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of power conversion experience OR a Master’s degree with a focus in Power Electronics and 6+ years of power conversion experience.
- Proven experience designing power conversion systems, including active front-end designs for single and three-phase AC inputs.
- Strong understanding of isolation requirements, including creepage and clearance standards (UL, IEC).
- Experience with EMI/EMC design, compliance, filtering, and troubleshooting.
- Deep knowledge of power semiconductor devices (MOSFETs, SiC, GaN), gate drivers, and protection circuits.
- Proficiency in analog and power circuit simulation tools (e.g. LTspice).
- Strong foundation in control theory, including design, modeling, and stability analysis of control loops.
- Experience with thermal design and analysis (heatsinking, airflow, and loss modeling).
- Knowledge of magnetics design, including transformers and inductors (core selection, winding techniques).
- Experience with isolated and non-isolated bidirectional topologies (DAB experience strongly preferred).
- Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, network analyzers).
- Demonstrated success bringing products from concept through volume production.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.

Location
This position is located in Longmont, CO with flexibility to work a hybrid schedule once fully trained. Relocation assistance is available for this position.
Pay
The projected range of annual base salary for this role is $170,000 - $200,000 depending on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.
