Senior Power BI & Microsoft Fabric Data Analytics

Hybrid work model: onsite 3 days per week in O’Fallon, MO (63368). Temporary full-time role, estimated duration 2 months. Hourly rate: $50.00–$57.00.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable dimensional models and semantic models within Power BI and Microsoft Fabric using star and snowflake schemas.
• Analyze existing data structures and implement improvements for scalability, performance, and usability; optimize model relationships and reporting performance.
• Build and maintain Fabric-based data solutions including dataflows, pipelines, lakehouses, warehouses, and semantic models.
• Develop notebooks using Python and SQL for data preparation and transformation; integrate data from multiple source systems for reporting and analytics.
• Develop advanced DAX measures, calculations, and performance-optimization strategies; troubleshoot complex reporting and analytical requirements.
• Build and enhance executive and operational dashboards using Power BI; support paginated reporting and Report Builder solutions.
• Implement row-level security and security group–based access controls; support reporting distribution, user access, and data extraction requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Power BI development experience.
• Advanced DAX expertise with demonstrated experience solving complex business requirements.
• Strong dimensional modeling experience (star schema, snowflake schema, fact & dimension modeling, complex dimensions, semantic model design, performance optimization).
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric implementation and development.
• Experience developing notebooks using Python and SQL.
• Experience designing enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.
• Strong understanding of data integration and transformation patterns; experience working with complex and highly related data structures.
• Ability to quickly understand existing data environments and contribute with minimal ramp-up time.

Skills

• Intermediate Power BI development (report creation, semantic models, workspace management, publishing practices).
• Intermediate DAX and data modeling (measures, calculated columns, dimensional modeling, troubleshooting report performance).
• Intermediate dashboard design and business requirements gathering (translating stakeholder needs into intuitive reports and actionable visualizations).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience migrating reporting assets to Power BI/Fabric.
• Databricks experience.
• Experience with Report Builder and Paginated Reports.
• Experience implementing row-level security and security group–based access controls.
• Experience with Power BI Report Server environments.
