Senior Power BI Developer

About the role

This role combines report development, user training and support, and data modeling expertise to help transform business data into actionable insights. In addition to performing hands-on technical work, you will be a go-to representative of the BI team for the rest of the organization. Hybrid role at our downtown Corporate location or Sun Prairie location.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI reporting for multiple business areas.
• Partner with other departments (product, sales, marketing, R&D) to understand their usage and turn their requests into dashboards.
• Build and maintain semantic models and DAX measures in Power BI.
• Work with business users to understand requirements for new requests.
• Provide training, support, and guidance to end users and user-developers to maximize adoption and understanding of BI tools.
• Collaborate with the BI team to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
• Identify opportunities to improve analytics processes, tools, and standards.

Requirements

• Strong experience in Power BI, including report development, Power Query, DAX formulas, and managing user environments in the Power BI Service.
• SQL experience strongly preferred.
• Experience providing end-user training and support in a BI environment.
• Ability to create dashboards with a focus on continuous improvement based on customer and business needs.
• Effective change management and project management skills.
• Ability to solicit feedback to understand user needs, display attentive listening skills, and a customer service mindset.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, relational databases, and data warehousing concepts.
• Strong ability and initiative to learn and solve new problems using new technology or techniques.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
