Senior Portfolio Manager
About the role
The Portfolio Manager II and Senior Portfolio Manager positions at Bank of Marin are available in the Napa Redwood office. This role involves managing the loan application process, credit analysis, underwriting, documentation, and loan closing for assigned prospects and clients. The Senior Portfolio Manager also ensures proper risk grading and compliance with loan agreements/approvals.
Responsibilities
- Manage the loan application process, including credit analysis, underwriting, documentation, and loan closing for assigned prospects and clients.
- Ensure assigned loan portfolio is properly risk-graded and potential risks are identified and addressed.
- Provide quality service to clients by independently addressing needs and inquiries via phone, in person, or email, and partnering with Regional Managers where practical.
- Gather information for new loan requests, coordinate with Credit Analysts on loan package preparation and proposals, and work with Credit Administration to properly document loans.
- Closely monitor the loan portfolio to identify risks and maintain updated loan files.
- Provide guidance to Portfolio Manager I, II, and III positions on larger, more complex loans.
- Work with little supervision while supporting the Commercial Banking Office.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting, financial accounting, and credit analysis.
- Proficient typing and computer skills, particularly in using Microsoft Office Tools, and the Bank’s current software system.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work well with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to analyze and resolve issues making sound judgments.
- Thorough understanding and familiarity of the bank’s loan policies and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of regulatory and legal issues encountered in the completion and closing of complex personal and commercial loans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related field.
- Minimum 7 - 10 years’ relevant banking experience and/or training.
Skills
- Strong understanding of most loan types and related requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of deposit and Treasury Services products.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all services offered to commercial clients.

Pay
The hiring pay range for this position is $132,845 to $185,979. In addition to the pay range listed, all bank positions are eligible for incentive compensation, which varies based on role. The pay rate for a successful applicant depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
Schedule
The Senior Portfolio Manager is based on-site in the Napa Redwood office, while the Portfolio Manager II requires to be onsite.
