Senior Plumbing Designer

About the role

LEAF Engineers provides comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, technology, and fire protection engineering design services. The company focuses on system performance, reliability, flexibility, and ease of maintenance, working on large commercial projects, particularly award-winning K-12 schools.

Responsibilities

• Produce reports/drawings using calculations and specifications for various buildings
• Utilize client requirements and specifications to generate consistent drawings to meet their needs
• Review code related items with engineers to ensure compliance with client requirements and specifications
• Aid senior engineering staff in equipment selection through project calculations and equipment research
• Aid in the evaluation and equipment selection for the design of plumbing system components and apply standard engineering procedures
• Aid in areas that require consulting on feasibility reports and sustainability analyses
• Work with the team to design plumbing systems like sanitary, water, gas, storm, medical gas, fire protection
• Mentor plumbing designers and plumbing engineers on the expectations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering technology degree preferred
• 6+ years of work experience with an engineering consultant
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam

Qualifications

• PE License
• CPD Certification
• Ability to self-assess and command a high level of accuracy
• Strong oral, written, and communication skills
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills
• Project experience in K-12 educational market
