About the role
Mazzetti is a global engineering design and consulting firm specializing in Healthcare and Science and Technology facilities. As an employee-owned benefit corporation, we are dedicated to environmental sustainability and social responsibility. We are currently seeking a Senior Plumbing Designer to join our team.
Core Responsibilities
- Design plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, and other complex facilities.
- Design domestic water, sanitary, storm, vent, natural gas, medical gas, and specialty plumbing systems, and support fire protection system design and coordination as appropriate.
- Perform engineering analyses, calculations, equipment selections, and system studies.
- Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across Mazzetti offices.
- Support construction administration by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, participating in site visits, and resolving technical issues during construction.
- Contribute to successful project delivery by supporting schedule, quality, and client expectations.
- Mentor junior designers and emerging plumbing professionals as experience allows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent plumbing design experience.
- 8+ years of plumbing engineering or plumbing design experience within the AEC consulting industry.
- Demonstrated experience designing plumbing systems for healthcare or other complex facilities.
- Experience designing medical gas systems is strongly preferred.
- Experience with fire protection system design and coordination is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience preparing construction documents and supporting projects through construction.
