Senior Platform Operations Technician - 3rd Shift Overnights M-F

About the role

Join our Global Network Operations Command Center (NOCC) where you will monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Akamai's deployed network in a 24/7 environment. Our proactive stance enables Akamai to deliver content and applications, regardless of network traffic. As part of a collaborative global team, you will gain exposure to unique, large-scale networks and develop your troubleshooting and deployment skills on some of the most complex network technologies in the world.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot Akamai’s 24/7 platform, network traffic, threats, and alerts.
• Work in collaborative, internal, and external cross-functional teams to achieve timely resolution of platform-affecting issues.
• Administer automated software deployments to the distributed platform to maintain and ensure stability and security.
• Ensure platform issues are clearly tracked, updated, and documented.

Requirements

• 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field.
• Solid experience administering, monitoring, and resolving issues in a high-availability platform environment.
• Experience with Linux/Unix system administration and good knowledge of SQL and scripting languages.
• Experience with network technologies and internet protocols such as TCP/IP, WAN, and DNS.
• Good communication and written skills to articulate technical information to internal teams and external customers.

Pay

For US-based candidates, the base salary for this position ranges from $56,200 to $101,200 per year. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities.

This role operates in a 24/7 environment.
